Hitz BoxingFight Night At The Belvedere Recap & Results, January 31st, 2014 by Greg Harrison.

Hitz Boxing returned to invade the Belevedere Event Center in Elk Grove Village, Illinois that featured seven bouts on the evenings fight card that featured up and coming Chicago Super Middleweight Mike Jimenez.

The evening kicked off with heavyweights in action featuring Nick Asberry facing Raymundo Lopez. Asberry was dominant from the start of the opening bell looking the sharper of the two combatants. The first two rounds was all Asberry landing more combinations and hard right body punches to Lopez. Lopez was pretty much sluggish just countering with one punch bombs which most were not connecting. Asberry went on to dominate the fourth and final round landing sharp combinations and more hard right hands to the body to go on to win a unanimous decision retaining his undefeated streak.

Junior Featherweights appeared next on featuring Fidel Navarrete faced James Owens. The first two rounds was a war of exchanges with both fighters exchanging with bad intentions. Navarette seemed to get the better of the two. The third round was all Navarette out landing Owens with rights and lefts pinning Owens against the ropes. Owens displayed a lot of heart in the fourth but was not enough to overcome Navarrettes aggressiveness as Navarette went on to win a unanimous decision. Navarette will be back in action again at Hitz Boxing's next event February 28th at the Horseshoe in Hammond, Indiana.

Junior Welterweights were next that pitted Joey Hefferle up against Justin Gauthier. The opening round was Hefferle's round to put away Gauthier. Hefferle was all aggressive all the way out landing his foe and finally delivering a brutal body punch finishing Gauthier by way of knockout at 1:26 of his professional debut.

A second junior welterweight fight took place with Aurora, Illinois native Eddie Ramirez facing Mateo Soto. Ramirez made quick work winning at 1:25 by way of knockout after dropping Soto with a hard body shot.

Super middleweights were set to take the stage as crowd favorite "Hollywood" Mike Jimenez faced Skyler Thompson. Jimenez started off his fight with Thompson feeling out his opponent before opening up and landing dominant combinations and body shots. Jimenez became stronger and more dominant as the fight approached the fourth round to where it became too much for Thompson to handle. Jimenez was victorious after Thompson decided on his stool he had enough.

Welterweights were next as the co-main event as Roy Navarro faced Thomas Amaro. Navarro turned it up in the second round dropping Amaro with a serious of combinations but was unable to finish Amaro. The third round saw Navarro dominating again dropping Amaro with a sharp one-two combination. Amaro was able to continue but would be stopped a short time later after Navarro went in for the finish dropping Amaro with a left causing the referee to put a hault to the bout with Navarro earning the victory at 2:53 of the third round.

The main event soon came to the main stage in the super middleweight division as Simon Buettner faced Greg Sykes. Buettner was off to a good start but was caught with a left hook in the opening round but was able to beat the count and continue. The second round, Buettner managed to press forward getting Sykes on the ropes staying busy looking to land inside body shots. Sykes landed a quick one-two combination near the end of the second round that stunned Buettner. Buettner went to rally but was unsuccessful losing a unanimous decision to Sykes.
