Cutthroat Oakbrook Fight Night 2 Results

Despite the bad weather, the DoubleTree Inn in Oakbrook was standing room only to watch another Cutthroat event. For weeks, fans anticipated watching the main event, between Samie "The Swamp Thing" Sabbah and the Olympian Centres Pete Becker. The Pac MMA's Sabbah came into the fight as an underdog against the highly decorated 9 time All American wrestler. The only thing was, noone told Sabbah that he wasn't the favorite.

The Swamp Thing was light on his feet and jabbed away at Becker landing numerous blows while avoiding several attempts by Becker against the cage to take him down. After the first round Becker seemed to tire and as he tried to close the distance, Sabbah landed several blows dropping Becker. After inflicting more damage, the referee put a stop to the contest at 1:31 in the second.

The co-main event featured Ryan "The Crusader" Haney versus Jay "The Mangler" Herrea. The first round had Haney defending off a guillotine by Mangler but managed to pop out eventually taking Manglers back working for the rear naked choke as time expired in the first. As everyone was getting ready to start the second, Mangler walked out of the cage as the crowd looked bewildered. The official decision was announced as a verbal submission by Mangler who suffered an arm injury in the first round and was unable to continue.

A courageous battle also took place Between Danny Bobolycsy and Patrick Loza. A bloody first round as both fighters took turns dishing out punishment to each other on the ground. The fight was halted so the doctor could check out both fighters and the fight resumed with some more action on the ground with a reversal and Loza landing strikes at the bell. The 2nd started with Loza trying a kick but a perfectly timed right hand by Bobolycsy dropped Loza, Bobolycsy quickly followed up with strikes gaining a TKO in my favorite fight of the night.

Tim Savenok showed he can do more than wrestle stopping Dakota Blackman, peppering him with strikes causing Blackman to tapout early in the 1st. Round. Tommy Benson looks to make a run at the 145 lb. championship defeating Dennis Sherman by ref stoppage due to strikes.

Cutthroat Tony continues to put together great evenly matched cards, and I personally would like to thank him for his efforts! Thank You Tony!!!
