Supreme Promotions Brawl at the Hall 3

SupremeBrawl at the Hall 3 was held in Joliet, IL; on Friday night. Fans packed the 176 West Banquet Hall to witness two Supreme promotion Championship bouts. The main event showcased two 185 pound undefeated fighters, with Nuthouse MMA fighter Bill Ward (6-0) facing Team Dau's Matt Paul (10-0). Ward was the quicker fighter on his feet, which caused Paul to clinch with Ward to negate the advantage. Paul was able to get a takedown in the first round landing in mount. Ward did well to avoid any damage from Paul, however when Ward attempted to get up, Paul took his back. Paul pulled Ward backwards to the mat and continued to work for the rear naked choke. Ward didn't want to quit, and almost appeared that he may escape the choke, but Paul adjusted and pulled back even harder, causing Ward to tap with just five seconds left in the round. This was a good test for both fighters, and I'm sure both fighters will become better for having faced each other.

The co-main event was originally scheduled with Eric Avelar to face Camren Bilyard (7-0), for the 155 pound title. Avelar pulled out of the fight two weeks ago. Dennis Sherman would take Avelar's place, and get an opportunity to take home Supreme gold. Bilyard landed an early takedown but almost ended up getting submitted while in Sherman's Guillotine. The choke seemed secure, but Bilyard would not be denied on this night. Bilyard fought through and escaped the choke. Bilyard was in Sherman's full guard and stood up bringing Sherman to his corner, and dropped him to the canvas. Bilyard then unleashed some ground and pound, dropping big punches on Sherman. The referee stopped the contest making Cam Bilyard the new Supreme promotions Lightweight Champion!

PacMma had a good night, with their fighter going 4-1 on the night. The Rebels of Destructions went 2-2 on the night, with Brandon Grach looking impressive.

In one of my favorite bouts, Pac's Johnny Torres was able to defeat Dennis Fisher, Torres was coming off of a year and a half lay off. Torres was finally able to finish Fisher in the third round, which isn't an easy task.  Another well matched fight by Mike Aguirre, who did a great job on the night.
